Coral scapes

Once upon a time, deep in the crystal-clear waters of Indonesia, there exist a small, humble reef known as **Rafa Bakkera**. This reef wasn't large, only 30 centimeters in diameter, but it is a natural wonder, a gem that sparkled in the heart of the ocean.

Rafa Bakkera was composed of a magical array of stony corals, carefully formed over time. The corals were a harmonious mix of LPS (Large Polyp Stony) and SPS (Small Polyp Stony) corals, each with its own character and beauty. Despite its small size, it carried the grandeur of the ocean within.

The LPS corals, with their large, colorful polyps, swayed gently with the currents of the sea. They emitted a soft glow in shades of vibrant green, purple, and pink. Each of these corals seemed to have its own personality, as if they held the stories of the ocean within their tissue. They were the friendly giants of the reef, welcoming and inviting to the small fish that sought shelter among their branches.

Beside them stood the SPS corals, slender and more delicate in form, yet no less impressive. They grew like tiny, fragile trees, with branches reaching towards the sunlight that filtered through the water. Their colors were more subtle, often in delicate hues of blue and yellow, but they possessed a refined beauty that captivated all who saw them.

Together, the LPS and SPS corals formed a harmonious whole, a small ecosystem teeming with life. Tiny shrimp, crabs, and fish swam around Rafa Bakkera, finding refuge among the corals, where they were protected from larger predators in the ocean. Here, in this modest reef, a sense of peace and balance prevailed.

Though Rafa Bakkera was small compared to the vast reefs elsewhere in the ocean, it carried a grandeur that could only be understood by those who took the time to explore it. Every centimeter was filled with wonders and stories, and anyone who discovered the reef left it with a sense of awe and reverence.

And so, Rafa Bakkera lived on, a small piece of paradise in the vast ocean, a reminder of the beauty and diversity of the underwater world. It was a testament that even the smallest things in life can be grand, as long as they are cherished with care and love.

From Reef to Art – A Second Life for Coral

Instead of being discarded, cultured/died coral fragments are given a new purpose: transformed into a unique piece of art for the home. Each fragment is carefully selected from sustainable aquaculture, where coral grows without harming natural reefs. By reusing these pieces, we not only bring the beauty of the ocean indoors, but also support environmentally responsible reef conservation. Coral gets a second life — not as a treasure of the sea, but as a symbol of respect and reuse.
